AHA BLS Instructor Class

Instructor Class Required Prerequisites

1. Pre-Authorization Required - Obtain Authorization
2. Maintain current AHA BLS Provider status
3. Complete BLS Instructor Essentials Online
4. Complete BLS Instructor CORE Online

All instructor candidates must have a current AHA BLS or Heartsaver provider card, which will not expire during the instructor development period. Additionally, each instructor candidate must complete the ~2-hour BLS Instructor Essentials Online course. Our staff will email access to the BLS Instructor Essentials Online course (to the registered email) within 48 business hours of registration. Lastly, all instructor candidates must also complete the ~ 4-hour CPR Training Company's online BLS Instructor CORE course. Access to the CORE online course is found in the registration confirmation email. Before attending this instructor class, learners must complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Online and the online BLS Instructor CORE content.

About Our Instructor Development Process
The American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor Course is taught through a blended learning model. To become an AHA BLS Instructor, candidates must complete the online prerequisites before attending the instructor class. The online content is designed to expose the candidate to AHA instructor content and reduce the administrative burdens during the instructor class.

Once in the instructor class, learners will find our entire instructor class is taught through experiential learning. We embed a BLS Provider class inside our instructor class allowing instructor candidates to hone their teaching skills in real-time and under the direction of a training center faculty member. The instructor course rounds out with our faculty member helping instructor candidates learn how to issue ecards, submit course files, and other essential actions.

As a BLS Instructor, candidates will also teach any course within the Heartsaver and BLS portfolios.

You can teach anywhere in the United States, and most of our instructors teach for an employer.
