AHA BLS Provider Course

The American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider course prepares healthcare professionals and other personnel to recognize and respond confidently to life-threatening emergencies.

This instructor-led, classroom-based course combines essential knowledge with hands-on skills practice. Participants learn to deliver high-quality CPR, provide effective ventilations, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and work effectively as part of a resuscitation team.

Training reflects the current American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

• Recognizing cardiac arrest and activating the emergency response system.

• Performing high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants.

• Providing effective ventilations using appropriate barrier devices.

• Using an AED safely and effectively.

• Recognizing and responding to choking emergencies.

• Performing CPR as part of a coordinated resuscitation team.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants receive an official American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid for two years.

The electronic course completion card can be accessed and verified online through the American Heart Association.
