American Heart Association (AHA) – Instructor-Led Classroom Course

The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course teaches participants the essential skills needed to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, perform high-quality CPR, and safely use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

This instructor-led course combines classroom instruction with hands-on skills practice to help participants develop the knowledge and confidence needed to respond effectively during an emergency.

This is a traditional classroom-based course. No online coursework is required before attending.

Who Should Attend?

The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course is designed for individuals with little or no medical training who need first aid and CPR training for employment, workplace safety, regulatory requirements, or personal preparedness.

What You Will Learn

Participants will learn essential lifesaving skills, including:

  • Recognizing medical emergencies and activating emergency response systems

  • Performing CPR on adults, children, and infants

  • Safely operating an automated external defibrillator (AED)

  • Assisting someone who is choking

  • Responding to severe bleeding and shock

  • Recognizing signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke

  • Providing first aid for common injuries and medical emergencies

Course Completion

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, including the required skills assessments, participants receive an official American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED eCard, valid for two years.
